Whether called Pinot Gris (France) or Pinot Grigio (Italy), this member of the Pinot family of grapes (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc) is made as a white wine but the grapes are a light to medium red in color when ripe (Gris or Grigio, meaning “grey” for a grape that isn’t white but also isn’t a true red grape). They are harvested and immediately processed with little to no skin contact to keep the juice clear, although they may occasionally show a faint copper color in the finished wine. This grape produces a light white wine with the ability to match with many foods. Our Pinot Grigio was sourced from select vineyards here in Temecula Valley.
