Vermentino

Tasting Notes: Vermentino is found in various parts of Central Italy where it produces a variety of styles but is especially noted and well known on the island of Sardinia and the Ligurian coast (think glitzy Portofino and the Cinque Terre). Thornton’s 2025 Vermentino is produced from fruit solely within the Temecula Valley appellation, harvested from the Noble Vineyard. A small amount (19%) was aged in neutral French oak to gain extra richness. This wine is fresh, subtly crisp and ready to drink now, but will develop some richer characters with a year or two of bottle age.
